The first ever Thank God It’s Fall (T.G.I.F.) Sports Kick-off event held on August 26th, 2010 at Kottmeyer Stadium was a great success.  The event was a combined effort of all the fall sports teams that provided an opportunity for the students and their families to meet and socialize in a fun and informal setting. 

Everyone was held captive in the stands during the "Main Event" as local radio station hosts introduced our fall sports teams, highlighting the senior athletes.  The performances from the Downingtown West High School band and cheerleaders were exceptional, as always. 

The food provided by Sticky Finger BBQ and the DogHouse filled the stadium with mouthwatering smells throughout the evening.  The lines were never ending and everything was well worth the wait.  Margo’s Ice cream, Eagle Organic Pretzel and Anthony’s Pizza also provided delicious appetizers and desserts.

Each team enjoyed a kickoff to their fundraising campaign with clothing sales, raffles and contests.  Dick’s Sporting Goods was kind enough to offer money saving coupons to our supporters and everyone enjoyed the Moon Bounce and Dunk Tank that were provided by Parties, Events & More, Inc. 

A special thank you goes out to Event Coordinator -  Deonna Harrell who worked tirelessly before and during the event to assure that everyone had a great time!  What a terrific way to start the Fall sports season and I'm sure it will be a treasured event that all players, parents, friends and families will look forward to in the years to come.
